Paulette Privott found her passion in retirement, creating custom beaded jewelry and accessories.  Admitting that she had joint pain and arthritic challenges, an idea started to emerge.  There was a need and a market for her ‘special collections’ for women with limited dexterity.

This crafty niche was launched in 2012, as B Quest Beadz.  Ms Privott’s use of color and detailed beadwork yields harmonic artistry to jewelry, jackets, scarves and shirts.  She was viewed on ABC, for the AARP’s “Life Reimagined” series.  She has won 2 first place awards for her beadwork from Bedazzled Bead Stores, located in Washington D.C. and Baltimore, MD, respectively. She has also received artisan encouragement from world renown bead artisan, Joyce Scott, whose artistry is in the National Museum of African American History and Culture.  Ms Privott also teaches jewelry classes with the Baltimore Bead Society.  This hobbyist has evolved into a skilled artisan. B Quest Beadz creates beautiful, colorful jewelry that is easy to wear, stylish and distinctive.  It was born out of a personal need and that need continues to drive the direction this business.  Having dexterity limitations, Paulette Privott seized an opportunity, pushing the envelope. Singlehandedly, creating “one of a kind” jewelry pushes her to be original and unique in her adornment collections.

Understanding her limitations has enhanced her creativity and increased her interest in new avenues of beadwork.B Quest Beadz makes jewelry that anyone can wear; the bonus is that there is no excuse, not to! Ms Privott is an active member of the Baltimore Bead Society and teaches beading classes to members. She is also a member of the Northern Virginia Handcrafters Guild where she is the chairperson of the Standards Committee which juries non-members as entrance to the Guild.
